You aren't eligible to participate if:

  • You’re in a relapse/active/flare up phase of a diagnosed chronic immune-mediated, inflammatory condition(s) other than HS

  • You have an active or chronic infection requiring hospital treatment (antibiotics or corticosteroids) within 30 days prior to screening

  • You have a current severe psychological (e.g., schizophrenia) or cognitive disorder (e.g.,

  • Alzheimer’s disease) that would interfere with the ability to participate in the study

  • You are currently enrolled or has been enrolled in a clinical trial for HS within the last 6 months

Here's the process and what you can expect:

2 - 90 minute web interviews (these may be up to 9 months apart as they need to process the information to form the second interview).

IQVIA will conduct a screening call with the patient or caregiver.

If qualified, consents will be completed.

Provide proof of HS diagnosis and Hurley stage (mild, moderate or severe works as well) with medical records (scanned copy, photograph of medical record, etc. are acceptable)

If your medical record with your diagnosis of HS doesn’t indicate your Hurley stage (or mild, moderate or severe), we’ll arrange a virtual appointment with a Dermatologist on their secure platform.  You’ll upload photos of your HS areas to a secure portal prior to your appointment and will be asked to confirm your identity and show and discuss your HS with the Dermatologist (many people can view their medical records online and a screenshot will suffice).

If a virtual Dermatology appointment is needed, the IQVIA team will work with the schedule of both you and the Dermatologist to arrange a virtual appointment.  The virtual Dermatology appointment will last 15-30 minutes and the dermatologist will communicate your staging with the IQVIA team to confirm your ability to participate.  PARENTS:  If your child is under 13 you will need to be present for the virtual Dermatology visit.

IQVIA will reach out to schedule and carry out the 90 minute web interview.

Compensation:

  • $50 for providing confirmation of diagnosis and staging OR participating in the virtual visit

  • $185 for completing 1st interview (interview reimbursement of $185 + confirmation of diagnosis or virtual visit of $50 are paid within a few weeks of the first interview for a total of $235 for the 1st interview)

  • $185 for completing 2nd interview ($185 is paid within a few weeks following the second interview)

IQVIA will reach out to you 6-9 months after the 1st interview to schedule the 2nd follow up interview.
